OBJECTS

Nomad Objects started in Antwerp during 2019, but the first time I got the idea to start this project was during a vacation in Morocco. I just couldn't get enough of the mesmerizing craftsmanship that I found in the medina of Marrakesh. The savoir-faire, the beautiful vases and ceramics, the stunning carpets. I just knew that in another context, and maybe even in another color, these pieces would be equally amazing. That’s when it became obvious to me: this was my moment to make things happen!

I knew right from the start that Nomad Objects had to be more than just your average webshop. The sun kissed colors, cheerful forms and positive glow of the jewelry, vases and vintage finds that I selected are clearly an extension of my personality. But this project just wouldn't be complete for me, if I couldn’t share this vibe with others. That’s exactly why Nomad Objects is a webshop where the creators behind the objects come first. This website offers you the products of traditional crafts(wo)men that immediately caught my eye while traveling, but you can also find young creators reinventing classical techniques or unique collaborations with artisans exploring new horizons.

Whether it’s furniture, design, jewelry or limited art series that you’re looking at, they're all connected by the same common thread: honest production, small scale creatives and first and foremost like-minded souls trying to make a nicer world. Because that’s what it’s all about for me, and - since you’re reading things - I bet, for you too.

MOTOI

I’m Julie Motoi, born and raised in Belgium by a Belgian mother and Romanian father.
My friends would describe me as energetic and as the friend who believes no plan is too crazy to consider. If we'd be fantasizing about a weekend abroad, I’d have the flight tickets, the nice Airbnb and the local tips ready before you’d even admit to yourself that baby needs a holiday.

In my life, I want space for love, sunshine, meaningful connections and adventure. Beauty hides behind every corner, and I'm curious - or crazy? - enough to go searching for it. Even if that implies me sneaking through back alleys at the other end of the world, with a guide I've never seen before, who promised to introduce me to the best carpet artisan in town. Or: how Nomad Objects came to life.
